Bambu Lab AMS Hub — Multi-AMS Expansion for X1 & P1 Series
The AMS Hub allows X1 and P1 series printers to connect and manage multiple AMS units from a single printer. It replaces the built-in filament buffer and expands capacity from one AMS (4 channels) to up to four AMS units (16 total channels), improving filament switching efficiency and enabling buffered, redundant signal handling across multiple AMS systems.
This is the required expansion component for users running multi-AMS setups on compatible printers.
What It Does
• Expands support from 1 AMS to up to 4 AMS units
• Enables up to 16 filament channels on a single printer
• Improves refueling speed across multiple AMS units
• Provides buffered signal redundancy for stable operation
• Replaces the stock filament buffer on the printer
Compatibility — Important
• Compatible with X1 Series and P1 Series printers
• Not compatible with A1 or A1 mini
• Required when using more than one AMS on supported printers
System Requirements
• One AMS Hub installs on the rear of the printer
• A 4-pin bus cable is required to connect the hub to the printer
• 6-pin bus cables are used to daisy-chain AMS units
• Additional AMS units require additional 6-pin cables and PTFE tubing
(Shorter PTFE paths and left-side AMS placement are recommended to reduce feeding resistance.)
Installation Overview
• Replaces the existing filament buffer
• Mounts to the rear of the printer
• Printer connects to hub via 4-pin cable
• AMS units connect in series using 6-pin cables
• PTFE tube connects hub to the rear air-tube connector
What’s in the Box
• AMS Hub
• 6-pin bus cables (2 pcs, 1.5 m)
• PTFE tube
• Mounting screws
(Some multi-AMS configurations may require additional cables or tubing.)
