This spring-steel build plate holds common filaments firmly during printing, then releases parts easily with a simple flex once cooled. The fine texture produces a uniform, matte underside that hides fingerprints and minor layer lines for a professional finish straight off the bed.

Compatibility

Getting started

• Clean the magnetic base and plate surface before first use
• Install the plate with the textured side facing up
• Run bed leveling and first-layer calibration
• Fine-tune first-layer height (“squish”) for best adhesion and release

Suggested starting temperatures (typical)

• PLA: 45–60 °C
• PETG: 70–85 °C (use a light release agent if adhesion is too strong)
• TPU: 35–50 °C (slow first layer, gentle squish)
• ABS / ASA: 90–110 °C (enclosure recommended)

Care & maintenance

• Clean with blue Dawn dish soap and hot water, then towel dry thoroughly
• Avoid metal scrapers or abrasive pads—use plate flex to remove prints
• Apply a light glue stick when printing very sticky filaments as a release layer
• Allow the plate to cool before removing parts to protect the PEI surface

Notes

• The textured surface will imprint on the bottom of prints
• For glossy or perfectly smooth undersides, use a Smooth PEI plate instead
• Small contact areas may benefit from a brim or increased first-layer width
