The Bambu Lab H2C is a production-focused 3D printer engineered specifically for true multi-material and multi-color printing with minimal purge waste. Unlike traditional single-nozzle or dual-nozzle systems, the H2C uses a dedicated hotend-change architecture that allows multiple materials to be printed in a single job without constant nozzle purging.
With an actively heated enclosure, hardened steel extrusion system, and intelligent error detection, the H2C is built for users who need efficiency, precision, and repeatability when printing complex parts.
Core design advantage — hotend change system
The H2C features a Vortek hotend-change system with seven total hotend positions:
• Six right-side induction hotends dedicated to individual filaments
• One left-side standard hotend typically used for support material or specialty filament
Each filament is assigned its own hotend, allowing the printer to switch materials by physically changing hotends instead of purging a single nozzle. This dramatically reduces waste, shortens print times, and improves surface quality on multi-material parts.
Induction heating allows the active hotend to reach printing temperature in seconds, while inactive hotends remain parked and isolated.
