Convoy-Westcan PLA+ Filament – 5 kg Bulk Spool

Canadian-Made • Bulk Printing • 1.75 mm PLA+ Filament

Overview

Convoy-Westcan PLA+ 5 kg bulk spools are made for customers who print a lot and want fewer spool changes, consistent material, and better value for high-volume 3D printing.

This Canadian-made PLA+ filament is a great choice for print farms, schools, businesses, hobbyists, and production users who need reliable everyday filament for prototypes, display models, organizers, brackets, fixtures, signage, colour-coded parts, and light-duty functional prints.

PLA+ is easy to print like standard PLA, but offers improved toughness for everyday use.

Important spool note

This is a 5 kg bulk spool and is not intended to fit inside the Bambu AMS.

For Bambu Lab printers, use an external spool holder, roller, or compatible bulk-spool feeding setup. The filament itself is compatible with Bambu Lab printers, but the 5 kg spool size must be fed externally.

Why choose Convoy-Westcan PLA+

• Made in Canada
• 5 kg bulk spool for high-volume printing
• Fewer spool changes compared to 1 kg rolls
• Easy to print on Bambu Lab and most 1.75 mm FDM printers
• Good surface finish and colour consistency
• Low warp and good dimensional stability
• Tougher than basic PLA
• Great for schools, print farms, production runs, and everyday shop use
• Locally stocked by Convoy-Westcan in Winnipeg

Recommended starting settings

For Bambu Lab printers, we recommend starting with the Bambu Lab PLA Basic filament profile.

This gives most users a simple, reliable starting point without needing to manually build a custom profile. From there, you can adjust temperature, speed, cooling, or flow if needed depending on the part, colour, and surface finish.

For other 1.75 mm FDM printers, use these general starting settings:

• Nozzle: 205–220 °C
• Bed: 50–65 °C
• Cooling: 60–100% after the first few layers
• Speed: 40–80 mm/s as a safe starting range
• Layer height: 0.12–0.28 mm for most prints
• Drying, if needed: 40–50 °C for 4–6 hours

Typical use cases

• Print farm production runs
• School and classroom printing
• Prototypes and concept models
• Hobby and display prints
• Organizers and storage parts
• Light-duty brackets and mounts
• Fixtures, jigs, and shop-use parts
• Signage and colour-coded parts
• High-volume everyday printing

Compatibility

• Material: PLA+
• Diameter: 1.75 mm
• Spool size: 5 kg
• Recommended Bambu profile: Bambu Lab PLA Basic
• Compatible with Bambu Lab printers when fed externally
• Compatible with most 1.75 mm FDM 3D printers
• Not intended to fit inside the Bambu AMS

What to know before buying

PLA+ is one of the easiest and most reliable materials to print, but it is still best used away from high heat. For parts that may sit in a hot vehicle, near heat sources, or outdoors long-term, PETG or ASA may be a better choice.

This 5 kg spool is best suited for users who already have a way to hold and feed a large-format spool. Please confirm your printer setup can support a 5 kg roll before ordering.

This is not a Bambu Lab product. It is Convoy-Westcan house brand filament, made in Canada and stocked locally in Winnipeg.
