Bambu Lab PA6-CF — Carbon-Fiber Nylon for Tough, Functional Prints

High Strength • Heat-Resistant • Dimensional Stability

Built for real work. PA6-CF blends nylon with carbon fiber to deliver rigid, heat-resistant parts that hold tolerances under load. Great for fixtures, mounts, brackets, and mechanical components where reliability matters.

Why you need it

Stiff, strong, stable: Carbon fiber reinforcement for load-bearing parts
Heat ready: Resists softening in warm environments and enclosures
Matte, professional finish: Minimal cleanup, parts look “production”
Low warp when dry: Consistent results with correct prep and drying

Compatibility & usage guide

Printers: Enclosure recommended for best layer bonding
Nozzle: Hardened steel or tungsten carbide (abrasive filament)
Not compatible: 0.2 mm nozzle; stainless nozzles not recommended
Build plates (use glue): Smooth PEI, Textured PEI
Not recommended: Cool Plate SuperTack
AMS: Not compatible — run from a dry box or external holder

Recommended settings (starting point):
Nozzle: 260–290 °C
Bed: 80–100 °C (with adhesive)
Speed: ≤ 100 mm/s
Drying: 80 °C for 8–12 h before use; keep < 20 % RH while printing
Support removal: Best within ~2 h after printing

Technical specs (reference values)

Heat Deflection Temp (0.45 MPa): ~186 °C
Vicat Softening Temp: ~212 °C
Melting Temp: ~223 °C
Density: ~1.09 g/cm³
Melt Flow Index: ~6.8 ± 0.6 g/10 min
Tensile Strength: ~102 ± 7 MPa
Elongation at Break: ~5.8 ± 1.6 %
Flexural Modulus: ~5460 ± 280 MPa
Flexural Strength: ~151 ± 8 MPa
Impact Strength (XY): ~40.3 ± 2.5 kJ/m²

What’s in the box

• 1 × PA6-CF filament spool (1.75 mm ± 0.03 mm)
• High-temperature reusable spool + desiccant (resealable packaging)

Setup tips

• Dry thoroughly; nylon drinks moisture fast.
• Use a glue layer to control adhesion and protect PEI.
Shop tip: Clean plates with blue Dawn dish soap + hot water, towel dry. Avoid IPA on textured PEI to preserve long-term grip.

Notes

• Mechanical behavior shifts with moisture—keep filament and parts dry when stiffness and dimensional accuracy are critical.
• Abrasive: expect accelerated wear on soft/brass nozzles.
• Warm enclosure improves layer adhesion and surface quality.
