PLA Silk Multi-Color — Shiny Finish, Built-In Color Shifts
PLA Silk Multi-Color delivers a glossy “silk” surface with smooth, pre-blended color transitions along the spool. It prints much like standard PLA but produces eye-catching results that hide layer lines and reflect light beautifully—ideal for decorative and display-focused prints.
Why choose PLA Silk Multi-Color
• Glossy silk finish that reduces visible layer lines
• Built-in multi-color transitions — no AMS required
• Easy PLA-style printing: low warp, low odor, wide temperature window
• Excellent surface coverage on curves, text, and logos
• AMS / AMS 2 Pro / AMS HT compatible for automated feeding
How the color shift works
• Longer continuous prints (vases, shells, statues) show smoother gradients
• Vase / spiral mode produces seamless vertical transitions
• Starting colors and transition length vary by spool — variation is intentional
Recommended print settings (starting points)
• Nozzle: 200–215 °C (start ~205 °C)
• Bed: 40–60 °C (or off on very grippy PEI)
• Fan: 60–100% after first layers
• Speed: 40–150 mm/s (slower outer walls = higher shine)
• Build plate: Textured or Smooth PEI (use liquid glue if adhesion is strong)
Pro tips for best shine
• Use slightly cooler nozzle temps and slower outer walls
• Avoid over-extrusion — it dulls the surface
• Lock seam placement to keep decorative faces clean
• Skip heavy ironing; it can mute the silk effect
Typical uses
• Vases, planters, lampshades, desk décor
• Figurines, cosplay accents, display props
• Signage, gifts, classroom and showcase prints
Specs (typical)
• Diameter: 1.75 mm
• Net weight: varies by option (commonly 1 kg)
• Material: PLA with silk-finish modifiers
• Storage: keep sealed with desiccant when not in use
Compatibility
• Compatible with A1, A1 Mini, P1P, P1S, P2S, X1, X1 Carbon, X1E, and most 1.75 mm FDM printers
• AMS compatible (active drying typically not required for PLA)
Notes
• PLA has lower heat resistance than PETG — avoid high-temperature environments
• Optimized for appearance; choose PETG or engineering filaments for structural parts
